• The bottlenose dolphin can weigh between 300 and 1400 pounds.
• These dolphins can swim at speeds up to 22 miles per hour.

• Dolphins are not involuntary breathers like people. One side of their brain has to be active at all times so they remember to breathe. They never fully sleep.
• Bottlenose dolphins swim in groups of 10 to 25, called pods.
